As we’re sure most brides or brides-to-be know by now, the stress of planning a wedding can certainly take its toll. It’s no wonder a relaxing and romantic honeymoon is desperately sought after once the wedding has finished! However, the honeymoon of your dreams may cause a strain on the bank account and so we’ve put together a nifty little list of some of the more budget-friendly honeymoon destinations for you.

Portugal

Portugal is a beautiful place filled with beautiful people. It’s also a place where near enough all of the gorgeous coastline faces west, meaning the sun always sets behind the sea. Ideal for Instagram pictures, right? Considering there’s also plenty to do, such as the costa Vincentina nation park, the Fado bars in Alfarma and the stunning landscape of Azores, a romantic get-away to Portugal will only set you back around £72 per day. Not bad for a perfect honeymoon destination!

Palma de Mallorca

If sun, sea and sand are all you’re looking for on your honeymoon, then Palma de Mallorca should be in your prime list of candidates. As the capital of the Spanish Island, Mallorca, Palma de Mallorca is home to plenty of landmarks such as Gothic cathedrals and fortresses, which you can visit if you’re looking for a bit of history alongside relaxing. The purely charming nature of this gorgeous honeymoon destination should be enough to entice you, alongside the fact it will only set you back an average of £69 per day.

Santorini

You’d be fibbing if you said that the scenic destination of Santorini is not on your bucket list. Amsterdam

If you’re looking for a city-break budget honey moon, then what could be better than the wonderful Amsterdam? A bit like Venice, with the gorgeous canals and abundance of historical architecture, but for a fraction of the cost. Amsterdam is much cheaper in the winter and just as wonderful – so that’s something to keep in mind for those with a winter wedding. Ireland

For those who are looking for a historically rich and a game-of-thrones style budget honey moon (without the red wedding, we hope!) Ireland is definitely a place to take note of. Travelling to Northern Island, you join in the tours and visit the fantastic locations of Winterfell Castle and Kingsroad, alongside enjoying a medieval banquet on or a themed afternoon tea. Ireland is known for its welcoming nature and you might just gain yourselves a few life-long friends as you bond over a hearty bowl of Irish Stew next to a roaring fire. If this sounds like your cup of tea, a trip to Ireland will set you back just £84 per day on average.
